As part of their continued commitment to quality and long-term asset performance, they are seeking a highly experienced Head of Defects & Claims to lead this critical function from their Sydney CBD headquarters. This is a senior leadership role, overseeing a team of defect and claims professionals, including Defects & claims manager, administrators & maintenance officers, with responsibility across a diverse portfolio of residential assets. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in construction, real estate asset management, and defect and warranty claim processes, coupled with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end defect management process across all residential developments Oversee claims administration, assessment, negotiation, and resolution to mitigate risk exposure Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and internal standards Collaborate with contractors, legal counsel, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues effectively Provide strategic reporting, insights, and advice to senior leadership on claims trends and asset integrity Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence within the department About You: Proven leadership experience in defects and claims management across residential construction or real estate assets Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, warranty obligations, and statutory frameworks Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Ability to drive policy development, process improvement, and risk mitigation strategies at scale Experience managing cross-functional teams in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier property developer and play a vital role in protecting and enhancing the long-term value of high-profile residential assets.
